My State of Being: The articulated Attitudes.
Having experienced multiple "Schizophrenic" psychoses, spent time in mental hospitals twice and been through perpetual drug therapy and quit, Arthur, an artist from Nairobi, Kenya compiles memoirs and paintings inspired from his psychotic encounters and brings forth a rather unconventional translation of reality . Mostly hinged on subjective philosophy, mental disposition and divinity, this work is akin to an angry letter to the individual who thinks that freedom and truth can be conditioned. Arthur, in his memoirs, somehow dismantles all conventional concepts and institutions, not that they are not necessary, but that they should be viewed from the lens of causes and not as arbitrary means to inadequate ends. And yet, words can never conquer the experience of the unseen, unsaid and unwritten. This work is just so that you may be inspired to seek and embrace the ineffable that is.
The memoir includes a full catalogue of My state of Being art works with inspired captions and first hand information from a true psychotic experience.
